If there’s one thing I HATE about Facebook ads, it’s how difficult it can be to figure things out when Zuck & Friends go and change things up!
That’s what lots of my Absolute FB Ads students are complaining about now: how the new Facebook Ads Manager has thrown things for a loop and some of their ads are going live without them ever hitting publish.
Yup, that means their money is being spent before the ads are even finished.
So what can you do to avoid the fallout from these “bugs?”

Let me know in the comments if you have that filter I mention under Saved Reports!
Great walk-through Claire and the ‘Had Delivery’ is a pre-defined option in the saved searches :)
Hi Claire
Thanks for the video. Had Delivery appeared automatically for me.
I had an annoying thing recently where I made an ad that originated as an Instagram post that I wanted to use to advertise on FB, so I boosted the post to my chosen audience, it was only when I checked that I realized FB was only running the ad on Instagram and not FB at all! I couldn’t edit the placement so had to stop the ad and totally redraft it to only run on FB. I already had a promotion running on Instagram so it just ended up me spending double the money on Instagram and not getting any FB coverage. I’m still finding my way with FB ads running my own jewellery business. It is Labyrinthine!
The fact you can never really predict where they are going to show your ad is annoying – any tips?
Thanks Claire! I have the ‘Had Delivery’ filter and never created it so it must be standard? Ever since I’ve moved across to ads manager I can’t find anything in draft, I tried the filters but it literally disappears. Fingers crossed it’s a glitch and I’ll get it back soon.
